ARE YOUR DRAINS RUNNING SLOWLY?

A drain that seemingly takes forever to empty can surely be an annoyance, but even worse is one that's completely clogged and won't drain at all. Let us be your plumber!

TIPS TO KEEP DRAINS CLEAN & CLEAR

If your home has drains that seemingly clog quite a bit, there are some simple things you can do to prevent clogging.

The Pipe Doctors do not recommend using cleaners that contain harsh chemicals. Rather, use a "green" or environmentally-friendly one to prevent and clear slowly-emptying drains. You can also use ½ cup of baking soda followed by 1 cup of vinegar and wait for about 10 minutes. Then, rinse the drain with hot water.

Secondly, never ever dump grease from cooking down the drain. Throw it out with the trash instead. If you prefer, pour the grease into a container such as an empty coffee can to harden before placing it in the trash.

Also, run hot water through your drains. Ideally, this should be done after each use. If you have drains you seldom use, be sure to do this on a weekly basis.

Finally, use strainers whenever possible and keep them clean.
